Swami describes two early lilas of Krsna which highlight opposite but equally harmful tendencies in sadhana. Sakatasura, the cart demon, represents being weighed down by the burden of the cultural baggage that accumulates around every religious tradition. In contrast, Trnavarta, the whirlwind demon, represents throwing out the baby with the bath water, exemplified by the Mayavada philosophy. To avoid these two tendencies, Swami recommends serious, careful study of Krsna lila as presented in Srimad Bhagavatam.
