Swami introduces a group of yoga students to the yuga dharma, nama sankirtana, beginning with a presentation of the history of the sankirtana movement and its progenitor, Sri Caitanya. He discusses the significance of sadhana and sadhya as the central aspects of any spiritual path and explains the unique nature of harinama as both sadhana and sadhya in the path inaugurated by Mahaprabhu. Several verses from the Gita and the first verse of Siksastakam are recited and explained to illustrate the nature and benefits of harinama, and in a long question-and-answer session, Swami clarifies several basic issues in spiritual life from the viewpoint of the Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition.
